This October, you’re invited to Osher’s new class, Grace Under Pressure: Profiles in Courage, and other American Heroes, where you will learn about Senator John F. Kennedy and the senators that he profiled who committed unsung acts of heroism. In 1956, Kennedy wrote Profiles in Courage, a book that would win a Pulitzer Prize and form the basis of the legend that became Camelot and his presidency. Serving as a beacon of hope for America, Profiles in Courage is an inspiring exploration of courageous and patriotic Americans at different points of our country's history. This class examines JFK's book and studies other people who have shown special qualities and
grace under pressure. Discussion ranges from civil rights to McCarthyism to the issues of war and peace to the environment and First Amendment Rights.
Sign up now to become an Osher member and take up to 5 classes for $125.
