Vocational Education and Special Subjects Credentials

UCR Extension, in collaboration with the UCR Graduate School of Education, offers California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CTC) approved credential programs leading to the Designated Subjects Vocational Education and Special Subjects credentials.

General Information
For Vocational Education, applicants must choose between a part-time or a full-time credential. Special Subjects credentials are offered as a full-time option only. If minimum qualifications are met, students are initially issued a Preliminary Credential and have five years to complete requirements for the credential. Level One courses must be completed within the first two years of the Preliminary Credential period. Requirements for the clear credential include specified coursework and teaching experience completed within the five-year validity period of the Preliminary Credential. All full-time credential holders are required to meet the U.S. Constitution requirement.
