The integration of the National Standards and the National Model for School Counseling programs is embedded into the program. The certificate program will allow counselors to focus on data and accountability to ensure success for all students.

The program includes emphasis in specific content areas that provide school counselors the knowledge and resources to focus on the development of personal leadership and advocacy skills or to focus on data and accountability of their school counseling program.

The certificate program includes 8 units of core courses and 12 units of emphasis courses. Coursework emphasizes the development of leadership and advocacy skills, knowledge and attitudes to promote success for all students in the areas of academic, career and personal/social development. Development of a data driven school counseling program is also a focus of coursework.
