Biliteracy Specialist/Dual Language Certificate

Throughout California, many school districts are developing dual immersion programs to assist both language minority and language majority students in the same classroom. The goals of these classrooms are to help students attain challenging age-appropriate academic skills and knowledge, advanced levels of functional proficiency in English and another language, and an understanding and appreciation of cross-cultural differences.

Who Can Benefit
The Biliteracy Specialist Certificate is designed for bilingual teachers who already have a BCLAD (Bilingual, Cross-Cultural Language and Academic Development) Certificate and who want to teach in a Two-Way Immersion program. Dual Language is for teachers who have a CLAD certificate.
