Our certificate programs are designed to be flexible, allowing you the option to take just a few courses or to earn the complete certificate. If choosing to complete the certificate, we recommend you get the most out of your experience by following the suggested completion path below.
The fundamentals of direct current including Ohm's Law, Kirchoff's laws and circuit analysis techniques. Emphasis is on circuit analysis of resistive networks and DC measurements. You will analyze DC circuits from the simple to the complex; construct and make measurements of DC circuits from simple to complex; memorize the resistor color code; and identify a resistor by its electronic symbol. A study of the fundamentals of alternating current including series and parallel AC circuits, phasors, capacitive and inductive networks, transformers, and resonance; introduction to filters.
Emphasis is on circuit analysis of resistive networks and DC measurements. Parallel, Series and Series-Parallel circuit calculations. You will analyze AC circuits from the simple to the complex; construct and make measurements of AC circuits from simple to complex; learn the rules for frequency, reactance, inductance, capacitance and impedance in AC circuits, phasors, capacitive and inductive networks, transformers, and resonance. You will also be introduced to filters.
Covers digital systems with an emphasis on application and troubleshooting digital systems using counters, registers, code converters, multiplexers, analog-to-digital circuits, and large-scale integrated circuits.
Covers the various semiconductor devices incorporated in circuits and their applications with emphasizes on circuit design and construction, measurement and analysis.
A study of diodes and bipolar semiconductor devices, including static and dynamic characteristics, biasing-techniques, thermal considerations of solid state devices and a study of field-effect MOSFET devices and their characteristics as opposed to bipolar semiconductors. Solid State pulse amplifiers, large scale AF amplifiers, oscillators, AM-FM receivers, Pulse generators, sawtooth generators, advance applications of Junction diodes and transistors, MOSFET transistors and other semiconductor designs.
